Description

The small fox-like creature stood still on the path in front of them, eyes shining a horrid white in the moonlight, giving the entire scene an eerie glow. It began to move forwards, keen to investigate these visitor's to its home. The small black nose sniffed at the suspiciously and its eyes seemed somehow unfocused as if looking straight through them. "Who dares to enter my forest?" The creature growled in a deep voice which somehow seemed to mismatch its small stature.

"We-we're lost," The boy with black hair stuttered in fright before throwing himself to the ground in a desperate bow and plea for mercy, "We mean no harm to your home."

"Boy," The creature spoke with annoyance, "You have entered the Sacred Forest, the realm of spirits, ghouls and gods. I am the guardian of this place, protecting it so that all can live in peace and harmony. There is no need for destructive humans here. Leave now before you meet your end-now!"

Whimpering the boy scrambled to his feet before dragging his companion, their curiosity diminished and adventure over. A glance of fear back over his shoulder and the boy caught one last sight of an auburn coat and from the creature's rear grew numerous branches. "Branchtail..." He breathed in fear.

Ja, this is my newest character Branchtail. Most original name ever! His tail grows with each season, e.g. in spring it will bear buds, right now he's got his autumn tail.

He is a small fox (much like a Fennec Fox) who has been annointed to be the guardian of the forest. Branchtail was once a human, a man whose very name is repeated through the era of the crusades with King Richard. Some named him the green man. Some named him The Hooded One. Most know him as Robin Hood.
Because Robin became so successful at using the forests to hide and survive, he often wished to become a true being of the forest. From the knowledge his mother, a wiccan who lived in the forest, told him when he was young, he knew that humans can never be true forest's beings as they created fire which burns wood.
So one night, after he learned of the death of his beloved Marian, he mourned alone in the forest wishing to know how the forest can bare to live for so long knowing of the many deaths that occur in the forest and wished for he himself to become one with the woods. A true being of the forest.. His wish was answered by a boar god.

The great boar told Robin that death can also mean life and it is known that when something lives it will eventually die, that the forest just continues to grow as time goes on. But Robin begged the boar god to let him become a true being of the forest and see for himself how it was to be a true being of the forest.
Eventually the boar gave in and called for his friend, a blind fox demi-god.
The fox agreed to help Robin Hood in exchange for something precious. Robin stated that all that was precious to him was gone.

Then the fox leapt for his face and stole his eyes and stuck branches in his back. Unable to see and in pain, Robin Hood crawled looking for some kind of shelter. He sought it under some tree roots, which he had never been able to fit under before-then it occurred to him. The demi god had changed his appearance.

Robin Hood could no longer use his name. Everywhere he went, the spirits and ghouls taunted him "Branchtail, Branchtail!"
So this became his name.

Branchtail has never seen his new form, but he uses it to intimidate anyone who threatens the forest. Thus Branchtail was chosen to be the guardian of the forest.
